Maintained by the Committee to Elect Jan Schneider
The campaign is in full swing and I am looking forward to
getting out and talking with the citizens of this district!
Thank you to all who give of your time and talents in this
district. Whether you are an Executive Committee
member, a precinct chair, a server for Full Committee
dinners, a phone bank caller, or a fundraiser, I appreciate
all the work you do. You are the backbone for everything
that is good and right about our political system and
without you there would be no victory.
These are serious times that require serious leadership in
solving problems and bringing new ideas to the table. I
have asked to be your next representative because I
believe I can provide that kind of leadership for our
organizations all over this nation in defining strategy and
setting priorities, conducting operational assessments,
identifying waste and reducing costs, while improving the
quality of products and services. I will bring that focus to
state government.
It is important that we take our government back from the
career politicians and elect legislators with experience and
skills developed in the private sector. Our forefathers did
not envision a government run by career politicians but
rather by citizen legislators who were willingly to bring their
experience and skills to work, for a time, in government. I
am willing to take a stand to do just that.
This November, 122 State Legislative campaigns will
come before the voters to determine who will make the
serious decisions in governing our state for the next two
years. In this district (41b), the critical vote will be cast in
the September primary.
My opponent in the primary will be the incumbent, Rep.
Neil Peterson, who has chosen not to abide by the
endorsement decision made at our District Convention.
The delegates and alternates who voted for my
endorsement at that Convention were elected by many of
you who attended your precinct caucuses last February.
Between now and September, you will likely hear that this
endorsement and my campaign are based solely on the
transportation vote. I can assure you that is not the case,
it was simply the final straw. For four years, my opponent
has put his voice and vote to such projects as a clothing
sales tax, the Twins stadium, scholarship tuition for
children of illegal immigrants, and initially, opposition to
eminent domain reform. We can do better.
We are the party of less government, lower taxes and
spending, personal empowerment and responsibility. We
must do more than say these words. We must provide
leadership to govern by them. It is long past time that we
walked the talk.
I invite you to learn more about my campaign by visiting

campaign with good debate. I ask for your support and
vote.
