We are very excited to support Jan Schneider's candidacy for the seat currently held by Neil
Peterson, who lost Republican Party endorsement last Saturday at the Republican Senate
District 41 Convention.
Peterson has repeatedly voted in opposition to his own party's positions on bills ranging from
the takeover of school health insurance, restricting bonding to emergency spending,
rejecting pork-barrel spending, and requiring a super majority to raise taxes. In addition to
Council, Peterson also did not push for Minority Leader Marty Seifert's $7.6 billion
transportation bill which put more money into roads without raising taxes.
When we learned Peterson would be challenged by highly regarded and experienced Jan
Schneider, we became energized and committed to get involved. We have never before been
active beyond attending caucuses and volunteering as convention delegates but now have
committed our time and resources to actively support Jan Schneider's election.
Jan Schneider brings nearly 25 years experience as a highly successful, self-employed
business consultant to Fortune 500 as well as small businesses. Her extensive civic service
record has abundant evidence of her commitment to government accountability and fiscal
accountability. She is a real reformer, is pro-family and pro-taxpayer and will not "go along to
get along."
