To the editor:
In early March, as co-chairs of Senate District 41 Republicans, we saw our delegates and
alternates vote decisively for a change of direction in our state and in our communities.
Today, we join with them not just as local political volunteers but as concerned citizens in
enthusiastically endorsing Jan Schneider for House District 41B.
There are many candidates who can run on accomplishments and experience. There are
others who can run on conviction and principle. But there are very few who can legitimately
run on both. Jan Schneider is one of those candidates.
Jan has been a small-business owner for 25 years, running an executive consulting firm that
has worked with companies ranging from the small to the Fortune 500. She has served on
the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce's board of directors and on the Bloomington
Planning Commission where she was elected by her peers of various political stripes to the
position of chairperson. And Jan has done all of this without compromising her ethics or her
core beliefs. She has repeatedly proven to her clients, to her civic peers, and to us that
standing by principles doesn't mean standing in the way of getting the right things done.
We give Jan our own personal endorsement because of this consistent track record. As
someone who has spent her life seeking innovation and efficiency in business and principled
cooperation in local government, we know Jan will bring those same qualities to St. Paul.
