Schneider's experience means fiscal restraint
To the editor:
I was privileged to endorse Jan Schneider at the House District 41B Republican convention.
I am disappointed by decisions made by her opponent, Neil Peterson. Jan Schneider is a
woman of integrity. She lives her life on principles that keep her heart and mind focused. She
will hold her ground on behalf of her constituents.
Her service on the Bloomington Planning Commission, on the board of the Chamber of
Commerce and several non-profits, reveals her vision and heart for the community.
Jan's experience in business for 24 years has led her to know what it means to deal with all
the government regulation and taxation. Her expertise of building efficiency and productivity
in companies qualifies her to tackle government waste and seek fiscal accountability.
I agree with Jan - there are better funding solutions than the continual imposition of
increasing or creating new taxes.
This is unlike her opponent who supported a sales tax on clothing, the Hennepin County
Twins Stadium Tax, the DREAM Act (allowing illegal immigrants to obtain college
scholarships), and overrode Gov. Tim Pawlenty's veto of the $6.6 billion transportation bill
which included a gas tax and sales-tax increase.
Jan sees the burden on taxpayers and wants to bring greater accountability on current
funding to preserve already stretched incomes.
Jan is someone I can trust on issues that affect my family. I hope you too will give her your
vote at the primary election on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
