To the editor:
After two legislative sessions that saw our state's finances go from a $2 billion surplus to a $1
billion deficit, we need more than ever before representatives who can analyze a budget. We
need legislators who will put the needs of taxpayers first. We need someone like Jan
Schneider.
For almost 25 years as an executive business consultant, Jan has been an innovator in
delivering the needs of customers with businesses' needs to stay on budget. Whether it has
been teaming up with start-up companies or long-established members of the Fortune 500,
Jan has been made a career out of developing and implementing strategic business plans.
Jan has poured through budgets to find wasteful spending, freeing up funds for necessities.
And as a small business owner herself, Jan is intimately familiar with how important small
businesses are to the lifeblood of Minnesota's economy and how easily they can be
damaged by excessive regulation and taxation. This is the kind of experience we need more
of in St. Paul.
Many people might promise to do "more with less," but few have the experience and the track
record to make it possible. Jan does. We need Jan Schneider in the state Legislature to help
reform the way government operates and protect taxpayers. Please join me in supporting Jan
Schneider in the Sept. 9 primary.
